Romania: SIPEX partners with Menlo Electric to expand solar energy solutions

SIPEX, a leading distributor of construction and finishing materials listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange under the AeRO market (symbol SPX), has announced a new partnership with Menlo Electric, a prominent provider of photovoltaic components. With over 27 years in the industry, SIPEX aims to enhance its offerings by delivering comprehensive solutions for photovoltaic projects, including solar panels, storage batteries, inverters and cables.

Irinel Gheorghe, CEO of SIPEX, highlighted the company’s commitment to organic growth and adapting to market opportunities. He emphasized that the collaboration with Menlo Electric aligns with SIPEX’s strategy to support the transition to sustainable energy, including participation in the ‘Casa Verde 2024’ program. Leveraging Menlo Electric’s expertise and logistical support, SIPEX will offer complete solar energy solutions across its sales channels—traditional retail, B2B, and online.

Adrian Stan, Country Manager for Romania and the Balkans at Menlo Electric, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that SIPEX’s strong market presence and sales team will facilitate access to high-quality photovoltaic equipment. Stan anticipated significant growth in the solar energy sector by 2025, driven by partnerships like this one, which align with Menlo Electric’s international expansion strategy.

In recent years, SIPEX has broadened its product range through collaborations with Policolor-Orgachim, a leader in paint and lacquer technology in Southeast Europe, and TeraPlast, the largest polymer processor in Central and Eastern Europe, offering underfloor heating systems under the NeoTer brand. SIPEX provides technical consultancy and has the capacity to represent and promote new products in the Romanian market, covering all aspects of commercial, technical, logistical, and distribution services. The company operates with an integrated business model across three main areas: sales and distribution of construction and finishing materials, technical consultancy, and sales of finished colored products.
