Romania: Romgaz secures €760,000 natural gas sale contract with E.ON Energie Romania

State-controlled natural gas producer Romgaz has finalized a contract worth approximately €760,000 with E.ON Energie Romania for the sale of natural gas. This agreement covers the sale-purchase of gas from November 1, 2024, to April 1, 2025, and includes a bank guarantee. Payments for the gas are to be made within 30 days of invoicing, with late penalties set at 0.1% per day.

As the largest producer and primary supplier of natural gas in Romania, Romgaz is primarily owned by the Romanian state, which holds a 70% stake in the company.

On August 1, 2022, Romgaz became the sole shareholder of Romgaz Black Sea Limited, previously known as ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Romania Limited. This acquisition included the transfer of all shares from ExxonMobil, which owns 50% of the rights and obligations related to the oil agreement for the deep water area of the XIX Neptun offshore perimeter in the Black Sea.
