Romania, Romgaz in H1 2021 recorded slightly lower profit

State-owned natural gas producer Romgaz said that it has recorded a net profit in the amount of 155 million euros in the first half of 2021, which is by 4.9 % or some 8 million euros lower compared to the same period last year.

The company’s total revenues increased by 1.1 % in the first six months of the year, but its expenditures rose even higher, by 5.05 %.

National gas consumption recorded an 8 % increase in H1 2021 compared to the same period in 2020, while Romgaz deliveries increased by 23.7 %. Therefore, Romgaz had a 53 % market share in terms of deliveries from domestic production, which is by 8.6 % higher than the share held in H1 2020.

Natural gas production for first half of 2021 stood at 2,519.2 million cubic meters, which is by 12.2 % or 273.5 million cubic meters higher than last year’s production. Romgaz’ electricity production reached 203.08 GW, which is by 31.2 % lower compared to the first half of 2020. This production places Romgaz at a market share of 0.67 %.
