Romania, OMV Petrom said that its shareholders have approved a proposal to distribute more than 500 million euros in special dividend

Romanian largest oil and gas company OMV Petrom, part of Austrian OMV Group, said that its shareholders have approved a proposal to distribute more than 500 million euros in special dividend.

OMV Petrom will pay out a gross dividend of 0.009 euros per share. As a result, the Romanian state, which holds a 20.6 % stake in the company, will receive around 108 million euros in dividend. The dividend payout comes on top of a dividend of 0.0069 euros per share for 2021, or a total gross dividend of 392 million euros, which the company announced in April.

OMV Petrom recorded a net profit in the amount of 579 million euros in 2021, which is more than double compared to the previous year. It is the largest integrated oil and gas company in southeastern Europe with an annual hydrocarbon production of 47 million barrels of oil equivalent in 2021.
