Romania: KHNP partners with Candu Energy for reactor refurbishment project bid

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has inked an agreement with Canada’s Candu Energy to speed up the preparations to vie for a refurbishment project for a Romanian nuclear power plant Cernavoda.

The KHNP signed the infrastructure engineering services contract with Candu in line with their goal to participate in the retubing and refurbishment project of the NPP Cernavoda Unit 1.

The project focuses on replacing key components and building infrastructure for an additional 30 years of operation.

Under the partnership with Candu, the KHNP will prepare an engineering plan for the infrastructure construction.
