Romania: Greek group AVAX will build a gas-fired power plant at TPP Mintia

 

The Greek AVAX Group has signed a contract worth 673.5 million euros with Iraqi company Mass Group Holding for the engineering, construction, and commissioning of a 1,750 MW combined cycle power plant in Romania. A gas-fired power plant will be built at the site of the closed coal-fired TPP Mintia, the company said in an announcement.

Construction of the plant should start immediately, with a completion deadline of 38 months—until mid-2026.

The power plant will consist of two gas turbines, one steam turbine, and three Siemens generators.

TPP Minitia has been out of operation since mid-2021.
