Romania: GE Vernova expands presence with 85 MW Deleni wind farm order

GE Vernova has further strengthened its position in Romania’s wind power market by signing an additional supply agreement with PPC Renewables, the renewable energy arm of the Greek PPC Group. The latest contract covers the delivery of wind turbines with a total capacity of 85 MW for the Deleni wind farm in Vaslui county.

Under the deal, the US-based manufacturer will supply 14 onshore turbines, each rated at 6.1 MW with a rotor diameter of 158 meters. GE Vernova’s responsibilities include the delivery, installation, and commissioning of the equipment. This order builds on an earlier agreement between the two companies, which involved 23 turbines of the same model.

The new turbines are part of the expansion of the Deleni wind farm in eastern Romania. PPC Renewables is currently developing the first phase of the project, planned for a total capacity of 140 MW. Construction is already underway, with the first turbines from the initial order installed during the summer. GE Vernova recorded the latest agreement in the second quarter of 2025.

Once completed, the project will further expand GE Vernova’s footprint in Romania, where its cumulative onshore wind installations already exceed 800 MW, cementing the company’s role as a key player in the country’s renewable energy sector.
