Romania: Energy consumers platform in developing

Romanian National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) is preparing a platform which will function as database with all electricity and gas consumers and all supply and distribution contracts, said the vice-President of the Zoltan Nagy-Bege. Nagy-Bege said that the idea started from a discussion aimed to simplify the process of changing the supplier. According to him, the project is carried out through the Operational Program of Administrative Capacity with a financing of more than 4 million euros and is realized in collaboration with all operators in the market and the Federation of Associations of Energy Utility Companies (ACUE).

He explained that the new platform will be a database with absolutely all gas and electricity consumers in Romania and the proposal is that all energy supply and distribution contracts must be registered on the platform, which should be launched in early 2022. He pointed out that the main goal will be the back management of supply and distribution contracts and the relationship between these companies in case a change of supplier is done. Romanian has a total of 9 million electricity consumers and 4 million natural gas consumers, in both residential and commercial categories.
