Romania, Electricity transmission fee charged by the system operator Transelectrica will be increased by 15 %

According to the draft order by the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), the electricity transmission fee charged by the system operator Transelectrica will be increased by 15 % as of 1 January 2022.

Thus, the average fee for the electricity transmission service will increase from 4.15 euros/ MWh to 4.8 euros/MWh.

Following the analysis of the data submitted by the electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica, ANRE performed, according to the provisions of Methodologies I and II, the calculations by which the electricity transmission fees for 2022 were established, the corrections related to the year 2020, taking into account the initial target revenues (calculated on the basis of the regulated forecast costs of the electricity transmission service) and the annual corrections for 2020, as well as the adjustments of the regulated revenue for 2022 corresponding to the estimated additional costs that the operator transport and system will register them in 2022.

At the same time, an important contribution in the regulated income for 2022 is the cost of purchasing electricity to cover own technological consumption, which has registered a significant increase caused by steep price increases in the electricity market since July 2021.

ANRE said that the data taken into account when setting the fees for 2022 may undergo changes as a result of the consolidated verifications and analyzes to be carried out until the approval of the electricity transmission fees and the fees related to the system service.
