The average day-ahead electricity price on Romania’s OPCOM energy exchange rose to 121.9 EUR/MWh in October 2025, marking a 35.9 % increase year-on-year and 25.6 % higher than in September (97.05 EUR/MWh).
Trading activity reached 1.47 million MWh, down 3.5 % from October 2024 but up 26.3 % month-on-month. The average hourly traded volume was 1,966.6 MWh/h, while the total value of transactions climbed to 184.6 million EUR, up 23.9 % from a year earlier and 59.5 % higher than in September. The day-ahead market accounted for 35.2 % of forecasted net consumption.
On the intraday market, 166,948 MWh was traded — 4.8 % more than last year and 18.3 % above September levels — at an average price of 126.32 EUR/MWh, representing a 56.1 % year-on-year and 34.6 % monthly increase.
For bilateral contracts, total traded volume for October deliveries amounted to 1.07 million MWh at an average price of 103.73 EUR/MWh.
