Romania commissions largest PNRR-backed solar power plant in Teiuș

ENEVO Group has successfully completed and commissioned a large-scale solar power facility in Teiuș, Alba County, on behalf of Danish investor Eurowind Energy. With a total installed capacity of 68.99 MW, the plant is expected to generate over 103 GWh of green electricity annually—enough to supply more than 25,000 Romanian households.

A key feature of the new facility is its tracker-based technology, which allows solar panels to follow the sun’s path throughout the day, thereby maximizing energy output. Spanning 80.5 hectares, the project is designed for dual-purpose use, supporting both energy production and agricultural activity. The site allows livestock grazing, benefiting around 130 local farmers.

The solar power plant represents Romania’s largest energy project funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), with a total investment of approximately €55 million. Of this amount, €15 million was provided through state support mechanisms linked to the EU-backed recovery program.

ENEVO Group led the project’s development and construction in partnership with Alpin Sun and Electroalfa. The initiative also included the installation of a new transformer station to support energy transmission.
