Romania, Average price of OPCOM DAM 174.3 euros per MWh in April

The total volume of trade on the Romanian day-ahead electricity market, OPCOM DAM, in April 2022 amounted to 2.008 million MWh, which is 18% less than the same month last year (2.44 million MWh), according to the monthly report of the operator stock market.

Compared to March 2022, the volume decreased by 1% in April.

The average daily trade volume also decreased by 18% on an annual basis, to 2,789 MWh per hour.

The share of DAM in projected net national consumption decreased in April by 8% on an annual basis, to 47.7%.

The average price for the base load on DAM in April was 174.3 euros per MWh, which is 178% more than in the same month last year (62.8 euros per MWh in April 2021).

On a monthly basis, the price increased by 36.4%, from 274.2 euros per MWh in March.

The value of transactions on OPCOM DAM in April increased on an annual basis by 131.6%, from 155.6 million euros to 360.3 million euros.

The average weighted price on the market within the day, OPCOM IDM, was 173.7 euros per MWh in April, which is 161.2% more than the previous month, and the trading volume was 108,889 MWh.
