Romania, Average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the OPCOM amounted to 174.3 euros/MWh in April

The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 174.3 euros/MWh in April 2022, which is 177.57 % higher compared to the same month in 2021 and 36.44 % lower compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 274.22 euros/MWh.

Traded volume in April reached 2.01 million MWh, which is 17.66 % less than in April 2021 and 1.38 % less than in March 2022. Average traded volume in April 2022 amounted to 2,788.5 MWh/h.

The total value of transactions in April amounted to 360.3 million euros, which is by 131.61 % more compared to April last year (155.6 million euros) and 37.16 % less than in the previous month (574.4 million euros).

The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in April 2021 amounted to 47.74 %.

A total of 108,889.4 MWh was traded on intraday market in April (9.71 % more than in April 2021, and 8.12 % less compared to February 2022), with an average price of 173.68 euros/MWh (161.17 % higher compared to April 2021 and 41.39 % lower compared to the previous month).

Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in April amounted to 1.647 million MWh, with an average price of 97.2 euros/MWh.
