Romania, Average price of electricity on day-ahead market of OPCOM amounted to 192 euros/MWh in January 2022

The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 192 euros/MWh in January 2022, which is 244.83 % higher compared to the same month in 2021 and 16.6 % lower compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 230.21 euros/MWh.

Traded volume in January reached 2.62 million MWh, which is 6.06 % more than in January 2021, and 17 % more than in December 2021. Average traded volume in January 2022 amounted to 3,522.6 MWh/h.

The total value of transactions in January amounted to 518.8 million euros, which is by 263.74 % more compared to January last year
(142.6 million euros) and 2.33 % less than in the previous month (531.2 million euros).

The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in January 2021 amounted to 50.3 %.

A total of 100,709.5 MWh was traded on intraday market in January (21.92 % more than in January 2021, and 12.99 % less compared to December 2021, with an average price of 204.97 euros/MWh (262.05 % higher compared to January 2021 and 21.89 % lower compared to the previous month).

Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in January amounted to 1.567 million MWh, with an average price of 104.55 euros/MWh.
