Romania: Average OPCOM day-ahead price reached 103.2 euros/MWh in September

The average electricity price on the day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM reached 103.19 euros/MWh in September, which is 73% lower compared to the same month in 2022 and 1.5% higher compared to the previous month when the average price amounted to 101.65 euros/MWh.

Traded volume in September reached 1.16 million MWh, 36% less than in September 2022 and 5% less than in August. Average traded volume in September 2023 amounted to 1,609.2 MWh/h.

The total value of transactions in September amounted to 124.7 million euros, which is 82% less compared to September last year (690.5 million euros) and 7% less than in the previous month (133.9 million euros). The share of the day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in September amounted to 29.77 %.

A total of 139,113.7 MWh was traded on the intraday market in September, with an average price of 101.84 euros/ MWh.
