Romania: Average day-ahead OPCOM price dropped in February

Average traded volume in February 2020 amounted to 3,422.8 MWh/h. The total value of transactions in February amounted to 98.34 million euros, which is by 8.04 % lower compared to February last year (106.94 million euros) and 35.93 % lower than in the previous month (153.49 million euros).The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 40.52 euros/MWh in February 2020, which is 16.62 % lower compared to the same month in 2019 and 23.25 % lower compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 52.8 euros/MWh. Traded volume in February reached 2.382 million MWh, which is 11.39 % more than in February 2019, and 16.51 % less than in January 2020.  The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in February 2020 amounted to 49.27 %. A total of 57,403.6 MWh was traded on intraday market in February, with an average price of 44.19 euros/MWh. Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in February amounted to 1.502 million MWh, with an average price of 55.85 euros/MWh.
