Romania: Average DAM price 97.4 euros/MWh in April

Traded volume on the day-ahead market (DAM) of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM in April reached 1.57 million MWh, 22% less than in April 2022 and 8% more than in March. The average traded volume in April 2023 amounted to 2,174 MWh/h.

The average price of electricity amounted to 97.44 euros/MWh in April, 44% lower compared to the same month in 2022 and 10% lower compared to the previous month (108.48 euros/MWh in March).

The value of transactions in April amounted to 150.8 million euros, which is by 58% less compared to April last year (360.3 million euros) and 6% less than in the previous month (160 million euros). The share of DAM in forecasted net consumption in April amounted to 39%.

On the intraday market, 97,906 MWh was traded in April (10% less than in April 2022, and 11% more compared to March), with an average price of 102.34 euros/MWh (41% lower compared to April 2022 and 5% lower compared to the previous month).

Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in April amounted to 961.000 MWh, with an average price of 160 euros/MWh.
