Romania: 131 MW solar power plant project tender

Earlier this week, Romanian media reported that Hidroelectrica is seeking legal advisor in the acquisition process of Portland Trust Renewables 1, which is developing a 120 million euros worth solar project in Agres county. Portland Trust Renewables 1, a developer of a project for the construction of 131 MW solar power plant in southern part of the country, said that there are three more bidders for the project besides electricity producer Hidroelectrica.

Portland Trust Country Manager Florin Furdui said that the company is in a competitive process with several companies interested in acquiring the project, adding that he cannot confirm or deny the name of any interested party at this time, as the proceedings are confidential. He reiterated the company’s intention to bring all its projects, which are currently in development and add up to 500 MW, to fully operational stage.
