Region, Romanian and Bulgarian DAM prices are the lowest in Europe on Friday

On Friday, Romania recorded the lowest average daily spot price in the whole of Europe, of 95.5 euros per MWh. That is more than three times less than in France – 317.5 euros per MWh and almost twice less than in Germany – 160 euros per MWh.

This is made possible by the strong production of wind energy from Thursday night, which is the leading source for electricity production, ahead of hydropower.

In the first four intervals, the price dropped to 120 levs (24.2 euros) per MWh, and in the intervals with the highest consumption, between 7 and 8 in the morning and 19 and 20 o’clock in the evening, the price of DAM increased by 1,000 and 1,100 levs, respectively (200 – 220 euros) per MWh.

The day before, the price on Friday was reduced by 38% compared to Wednesday

In Bulgaria, the same price was achieved as in Romania, while in Hungary, the price on Friday was 171 euros, driven by prices from neighboring countries – Croatia, Austria and Slovenia, where one MWh was traded for over 190 euros.
