Region: Decreased Gazprom’s gas deliveries to SEE countries

Gas deliveries from Russian gas company Gazprom dropped in the first half of 2020. Gazprom decreased its natural gas exports to southeastern Europe by 23.5 % in the first half of 2020 compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 4.727 billion cubic meters.

In the first six months of 2020, Moldova was the largest importer of Russian natural gas in the region, with a total of 1.506 billion cubic meters, but the amount is 0.6 % lower compared to H1 2019.

Slovenia experienced the largest increase in deliveries – gas imports in the first half of 2020 reached 146 million cubic meters of gas as op-posed to 118 million last year, which is a 23.7 % increase.

Bulgaria came second with 1.033 billion cubic meters of gas, compared to 1.362 billion in the first half of 2019, which is a 24 % decrease.

Croatia imported 0.956 billion cubic meters of gas or 33.2 % less compared to the previous year, Serbia imported 0.524 billion cubic meters (- 48.6 %), Romania 0.343 billion cubic meters (-27.3 %), Bosnia and Herzegovina 0.119 billion cubic meters (- 14.4 %), while North Macedonia imported 100 mil-lion cubic meters, which is a 16.7 % decrease.
