Qair Montenegro plans 60 MW Jabuka solar power plant as part of regional expansion

Qair Montenegro is preparing to develop a new solar power plant in the municipality of Niksic, with a planned installed capacity of 60 MW. The Montenegrin Government has granted the investor the necessary urban and technical conditions to move forward with the project. According to the approved documentation, the planned facility, named Jabuka, will be constructed across multiple land plots within the Jabuka cadastral area.

Preliminary assessments indicate that the maximum feasible installed capacity of the site is around 60 MW, reflecting the technical and spatial characteristics of the location. This initiative is part of a broader expansion strategy by Qair Montenegro in the Niksic region. The company is also planning another solar power plant in the Petrovici cadastral area, with a similar capacity of close to 60 MW. This facility is expected to span roughly 50 hectares and feature more than 80,000 solar panels.

In addition to these projects, Qair Montenegro is advancing the Rudine solar power plant, designed for an installed capacity of 50.13 MW. The Rudine project is currently the most advanced, as a network connection agreement has already been signed with the Montenegrin transmission system operator CGES. The estimated investment value of the Rudine project is around 40 million euros, underscoring the company’s commitment to expanding renewable energy infrastructure in Montenegro.
