North Macedonia, Gross production of electricity 493 GWh in November

The gross production of electricity in North Macedonia increased in November by about 20 percent on an annual basis, to 493,027 MWh, the National Bureau of Statistics announced last week.

Net electricity production also increased by about 20 percent compared to November 2021, to 464,865 MWh, Maxstat said in a statement, referring to preliminary data.

Thermal power plants had the largest share in the gross production of electricity in November, with 244,387 MWh produced, which is 47 percent more compared to the same month in 2021.

Hydropower plants produced 107,468 MWh, which is 53 percent more compared to November 2021.

In the same period, the production of wind parks in North Macedonia increased by 32 percent, to 7,724 MWh, while solar parks produced 934 MWh, which is 23 percent less compared to November of the previous year.

Macedonian electricity exports decreased by 53 percent on an annual basis, to 147,479 MWh in November.

Electricity exports amounted to 86,486 MWh in November, compared to 22,127 MWh, which was exported in the same month of the previous year.

Losses in distribution decreased by 10 percent on an annual basis, to 114,099 MWh in November.
