North Macedonia: Electricity production reached 448 GWh in June

Total net production of electricity in North Macedonia in June 2023 reached 448,472 MWh, which is 30% higher compared to the same month last year, according to the data from the State Statistical Office. 214,045 MWh or around 48% was produced at thermal power, 107,335 MWh or 24% was produced at hydropower plants, 109,633 MWh or 24% in CHP plants and 10,951 MWh or around 2% was produced in the wind farm. Production at biogas power plants was 4,780 MWh, while solar power plants produced 1,728 MWh of electricity in June.

Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in June 2023 amounted to 426,258 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 23.53 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 416,896 tons, and the consumption of petroleum products stood at 90,739 tons.

100% of the consumed electricity in June was covered by domestic production, while 97% of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.
