Montenegro, The value of electricity exports is 43 million euros in the first two months

The value of exported electricity in January and February 2022 increased by 132% compared to the same period last year, to 43 million euros, according to preliminary data from the Montenegrin Bureau of Statistics Monstat.

This is primarily a consequence of the shutdown of primary production in KAP and a drastic jump in electricity prices on international markets compared to the first two months of last year.

In the structure of Montenegrin exports, according to the standard international trade classification, the most represented are mineral fuels and lubricants in the amount of 47.6 million euros, which consists of electricity with 45.4 million euros and others.

In addition to electricity, the export is dominated by non-ferrous metals, ie aluminum with exports worth 31.7 million euros, which is an increase of as much as 301% compared to January and February last year.

Exports of mineral ores, dominated by bauxite, in the first two months amounted to 8.86 million euros and decreased by 4.1% compared to the same period last year.
