Montenegro produced 2.55 TWh of primary electricity in 2023

The production of primary electricity in Montenegro amounted to 2.55 thousand GWh in 2023, and from transformations, 1.64 thousand GWh, according to preliminary data from Monstat.

In the same period, electricity imports amounted to 5.42 thousand GWh, while exports were 6.29 thousand GWh. Energy sector consumption was 127.5 GWh, and transmission and distribution losses amounted to 474 GWh.

The total available amount of electricity for final consumption last year was 2.72 thousand GWh. The highest consumption was recorded in the household sector at 54%, the commercial sector and public services at 38.9%, industrial activities at 6.2%, and other activities at 1%.
