Montenegro: EPCG reports €5 million benefit from solar energy projects

Montenegrin power utility EPCG has announced the results of its Solari 3000+/500+ and 5000+ solar projects, which ran from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025. The report reveals that consumers have collectively saved nearly 5 million euros during this period.

A total of over 7,000 users have participated in the projects so far, with 6,288 of them already certified and actively generating electricity. Throughout the reporting period, these users produced a total of 48,675,042 kWh, leading to an average annual saving of 788.41 euros per consumer. Additionally, 3,908 users qualified for payments from EPCG, amounting to approximately 593,000 euros, with an average payout of 151.94 euros per user.

EPCG also reported a profit of 3.46 million euros, benefiting from the difference between the market electricity price on the exchange (116.17 euros/MWh) and the guaranteed price within Montenegro (45 euros/MWh). These results reflect EPCG’s ongoing commitment to empowering citizens in the energy transition, enhancing domestic energy production, and contributing to the country’s energy stability.

The utility plans to continue its efforts in implementing projects that benefit consumers, the company, the national economy, and the environment, reinforcing Montenegro’s position as a regional leader in sustainable energy initiatives.
