Montenegro: Average electricity bill increases by 22.8% in December 2024

In December 2024, the average electricity bill for households in Montenegro reached 45.86 euros, marking a 22.8% increase compared to the previous month (37.35 euros) and a 10.4% rise from December 2023 (41.53 euros).

The lowest average bill was recorded in the municipality of Zabljak at 23.6 euros, while the highest was in Tivat, where the average bill amounted to 59.5 euros.

A breakdown of payments shows that 54.74% of households will pay less than 30 euros for their electricity consumption in December. Meanwhile, 13.81% of households will pay between 30 and 50 euros, 20.36% will pay between 50 and 100 euros, and 11.09% will receive bills over 100 euros.

In total, 162,752 regular-paying customers were granted a 10% discount, accounting for approximately 40.7% of all electricity consumers in Montenegro.

According to power utility EPCG, total household electricity consumption for December 2024 amounted to 162.5 million kWh, which is 7.68% higher than in December 2023 and 22.94% more compared to the previous month.
