Macedonia, ESM submitted an offer at its tender for the purchase of electricity for the first half of 2022

Universal service provider EVN Home said that only state-owned power utility ESM submitted an offer at its tender for the purchase of electricity for the first half of 2022.

The price offered by ESM is 41 euros/MWh, which is 13.6 % higher compared to 36.1 euros/MWh paid in the second half of this year. ESM will cover 100 % of universal service provider’s electricity needs in H1 2022.

The price of electricity sold by ESM represents the largest share in the final price of electricity supplied to residential consumers. According to previous estimates, the price of electricity as of 1 January 2022 will increase by a maximum of 10 %.

However, some energy experts do not agree with that estimate and expect that the increase will be much higher, at least 15 to 20 %.
