Hungary: Uniper expands renewable portfolio with 151 MW of new solar capacity

German energy company Uniper is strengthening its renewable energy portfolio with two new solar projects in Hungary, located in Tet and Dunaföldvár, with a combined installed capacity of 151 MW. The electricity generated by these plants is expected to supply power to up to 92,000 households.

Construction of the 90 MW Tet solar power plant is planned to begin in the third quarter of 2025, with operations expected to start in 2027. Meanwhile, work on the 61 MW Dunaföldvár project will commence earlier, in the second quarter of 2025, with network connection scheduled for 2026.

Extor Energy has been selected as the contractor for both projects. Spie Hungaria will be responsible for the network connection in Dunaföldvár, while Maxicontech will oversee the same process in Tet.

Alongside these developments, Uniper has also launched the construction of multiple solar power plants in Germany and the United Kingdom. The company aims to have up to 10 GW of capacity ready for development by 2030, reinforcing its commitment to expanding renewable energy solutions.
