Hungary, There are about 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas in Hungarian underground gas storages

The Hungarian Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Office (MEKH) said that there are about 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas in Hungarian underground gas storages, which is over 25 % of the total capacity.

MEKH said that the gas stores were replenished with close to 0.4 billion cubic meters of gas by the middle of April. However, the data show that there were some 3.6 billion cubic meters of gas in store the gas at the same time a year ago.

By the autumn, gas stores for supplying consumers on the regulated utilities market must reach 1.87 billion cubic meters. Gas volume in security reserves stands at 0.9 billion cubic meters, but it will rise to 1.2 billion by 1 October.

Total capacity of Hungarian gas storages is 6.33 billion cubic meters.
