The Hungarian Ministry of Energy announced that more than 21,000 homeowners have received an average subsidy of approximately 10,300 euros to support the installation of solar panels and battery storage systems.
The evaluation process for applications under the program is nearing completion, with over 600 contractor companies involved in projects across the country.
As a result of this initiative, the number of residential solar panel systems in Hungary is expected to exceed 300,000 in the coming months. These systems have a combined installed capacity of nearly 2,700 MW, accounting for more than one-third of the nation’s total solar capacity.
The program, which ran for a year, allowed households to apply for financial support of up to 12,500 euros, covering two-thirds of the total investment cost.
