Hungary: MVM sold 202 GWh on HUDEX futures exchange

MVM Partner, the trading subsidiary of state-owned energy company MVM, sold 203 GWh of electricity, out of a planned 267 GWh, at auction held on September 13, for delivery in the fourth quarter and 2024 and 2025.

MVM sold 7 MW (61 GWh) of Calendar 2024 baseload for 137.25 euros/MWh and 8 MW or 70 GWh of Calendar 2025 baseload, for 127.07 euros/MWh.

Average prices were about 1-2% below the most recent corresponding settlement prices on the HUDEX energy futures exchange.

As a significant market player, MVM must publicly auction part of its wholesale portfolio.

It sold 737 GWh of 2023 power and 334 GWh of 2024 power at previous auctions.
