However, this volume was 3.8% lower than in December 2023, which saw a traded volume of 2.61 million MWh. The average daily traded volume on the day-ahead market was 80,949 MWh.

On the intraday market, the total traded volume for December amounted to 842,428 MWh, a 7% increase from the previous month. The average daily traded volume on the intraday market was 27,175 MWh. The average price for the hourly product on the intraday market decreased by 14%, reaching 153.64 euros/MWh, down from the previous month’s average of 178.64 euros/MWh.

These developments reflect fluctuations in electricity prices and trading volumes on Hungary’s energy exchange as market dynamics continued to evolve during the final month of 2024.
