Greece to fast-track connection permits for RES projects with signed PPAs

Renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 2.4 GW will be granted network connection terms through an accelerated procedure, as a reward for having signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with industrial consumers. These industrial consumers, who have committed to these PPAs, will benefit from renewable energy sources to reduce their energy costs. However, the capacity of each contract must align with the specific demand of each beneficiary, which likely means that the entire 2.4 GW capacity may not be fully utilized.

It is worth noting that applications for PPAs with a total capacity of approximately 3.8 GW had been submitted for approval.
