Greece: Motor Oil obtained a construction permit for a 53.6 MW wind project

MORE, a renewable subsidiary of Motor Oil received a permit for the construction of a 53.6 MW wind farm in the Thrace and East Macedonia regions. The permit awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is related to a wind project located in the regional units of Rodopi and Evros in northern Greece.

The project envisages the construction of three smaller units with capacities of 11.6 MW, 20 MW and 22 MW, respectively. The complex will be equipped with ten wind turbines.

The wind project is developed by Motor Oil Renewable Energy (MORE). The company, established in 2021, had a portfolio of 772 MW of RES capacity and licences for an additional 2,266 MW at the end of 2022. In May, Motor Oil acquired a majority stake in Greek solar power producer Unagi, thus getting access to its ownership in a solar portfolio of 1.9 GW.
