Greece: Electricity production dropped to 3.5 TWh in June

Electricity consumption in Greece fell for a thirteenth successive month in June, dropping by 11 compared to the same month in 2022, according to data published by transmission system operator ADMIE.

At the same time, electricity consumption fell by 9% in the first six months compared to the same period last year.

Electricity consumption in June reached 3,866 GWh, down from 4,312 GWh in June 2022. Electricity production decreased by 15% to 3,541 GWh.

RES and hydropower generation dominated the energy mix in June, capturing a combined 54% share. The RES sector’s share was 44% and hydropower’s contribution represented 10%. Gas-fired power plants captured a 46% share of the energy mix last month.
