Greece: Alexandroupoli LNG terminal to resume partial operations in August after technical repairs

Gastrade, the operator of the Alexandroupoli LNG terminal, has announced that regasification services have been suspended since late January due to a technical malfunction. The issue was caused by damage to the booster pumps on the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU). The company has undertaken extensive repairs to resolve the problem.

Repair efforts have been progressing steadily, with safety as the top priority. The terminal is expected to resume unloading and regasification operations on August 15. At that time, it will operate at 25% of its full capacity, delivering approximately 41.5 GWh of gas per day. Backup pumps will be installed to ensure continuous service during this period.

This reduced operational capacity will remain in effect from August 15 to September 30, under specific technical and commercial terms. Starting October 1, which marks the beginning of the new gas year, the 25% capacity limit will be lifted. However, some operational restrictions may still apply temporarily.
