Greece recorded a historic electricity export performance in the first half of 2025, with export volumes reaching 571 GWh from January to June, according to transmission system operator ADMIE. This represents a sharp rise compared to just 22 GWh exported throughout 2024.
The increase highlights Greeceās transition toward becoming a consistent net electricity exporter. ADMIE noted that this growth is supported by major interconnection projects domestically and internationally, which not only integrate new renewable energy capacity into the grid but also expand opportunities for electricity trade with neighboring countries.
