Luka Petrovic, General Director of the state-owned power utility ERS, announced that there are no plans to increase electricity prices in the Republic of Srpska. He emphasized that the electricity system is expected to remain stable in the coming period, eliminating the need for any price adjustments.
Petrovic highlighted that ERS has implemented several measures to maintain steady electricity prices, particularly in light of recent challenges caused by unusually dry weather conditions. He also noted that production disruptions at the Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant during both the winter and spring seasons had a financial impact on the company.
In response to media reports suggesting a possible 40 percent increase in network charges for consumers in the Republic of Srpska, Petrovic clarified that ERS is not responsible for determining these charges. Instead, electricity distribution companies collect revenues based on tariffs set by the Energy Regulatory Commission (RERS).
