Croatia, Underground gas storage Okoli is currently 45 % full

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said that sole Croatia’s underground gas storage Okoli is currently 45 % full, adding that the filling process goes according to plan and is expected to reach 92 % level in early October.

PM Plenkovic said that the Government tasked state-owned power utility HEP to fill the storage, while the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development is monitoring the process.

He also said that Croatia had talks with several energy companies regarding the expansion of the capacity of liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on the Krk island, investments in natural gas transmission system operator Plinacro and strengthening the position of JANAF oil pipeline in the region.

PM Plenkovic stressed that it is very important that all energy companies play an important role in this energy crisis and take part of the burden on themselves, which enables Croatia to diversify its energy supply, at the same time making it a regional energy hub.
