Croatia: Tender for measuring stations at JANAF terminals cancelled

The tender for the expansion of the measuring stations at state-owned oil transportation company JANAF terminals in Omisalj, Sisak and Virje was cancelled and previous decision on the selection of the sole bidder as the tender winner is also revoked, JANAF announced. Local company Elektrocentar Petek was the sole bidder with the offer of 2.65 million euros.

This is the second public tender that Janaf annulled after The Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK) launched an investigation against a total of 14 people accused of influence trading, giving bribes, illegally facilitating abuse of position and power and aiding in those acts. Among the suspects for accepting and giving bribes in that affair are the former President of JANAF Management Board Dragan Kovacevic and the owner of Elektrocentar Petek Kreso Petek.

Namely, in mid-October last year, JANAF canceled the public tender for the works at the Omisalj oil terminal, in which the company Elektrocentar Petek also participated. The announcement for this tender was published at the end of August last year, and two bids were received – Elektrocentar Petek with 2.55 million euros and INEL-Montaza with 2.85 million euros.
