Croatia: Produced electricity in May

Net electricity production in Croatia in May 2020 amounted to 853 GWh, which is 20 % lower compared to May last year, when the production amounted to 1,066 GWh, according to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics. During May, 336 GWh of electricity or 39.4 % was produced in hydropower plants, 243 GWh or 28.5 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 182 GWh or 21.4 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 770 GWh of electricity, 8.5 % less compared to last May (841 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 370 GWh, 20.4 % less than in May 2019 (465 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 79 million cubic meters of natural gas in May 2019, 14.1 % less compared to May last year. Natural gas imports stood at 152 million cubic meters, 6.2 % less than in May 2019. Crude oil production stood at 51,000 tons, which is 8.9 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 284,000 tons in May 2020, compared to 127,000 tons produced in the same month last year.
