Croatia: HROTE seeks proposals for 607 MW solar, wind and HPP projects

The Croatian energy market operator has opened a public solicitation process to award market premiums to electricity production from renewable energy sources from both small-scale and larger projects. It targets a combined 607.25 MW capacity.

Under the category of projects over 1 MW, solar photovoltaic has been allocated 350 MW capacity with tariffs capped at €67.05/MWh. Tariffs cannot go beyond €75.27/MWh for wind power plants.

For hydropower plants with more than 1 MW and up to 10 MW capacity, the tariffs are capped at €158.30/MWh.

For the small-scale projects, HROTE has sub-divided the project range. It will select a total of 100 MW solar PV capacity from projects with more than 200 kW and up to 1 MW range and from those with more than 200 kW and up to 6 MW capacity. Tariffs for this category are capped at €82.04/MWh.

The remaining 90 MW is to come from wind power plants within three separate ranges of more than 200 kW to 1 MW, over 200 kW to 6 MW, and exceeding 200 kW to 18 MW. Tariffs cannot exceed €75.27/MWh for these projects.

The maximum incentive to be granted to a single project is €30 million.
