Croatia: HOPS invites bidders for electricity supply auction on CROPEX

The Croatian electricity transmission system operator, HOPS, is inviting all interested electricity market participants to take part in an auction for the procurement of electricity to cover transmission system losses. The auction will be conducted via the CROPEX trading platform.

The auction product consists of the supply of base-load electricity to cover transmission network losses for the period from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The delivery profile requires 10 MWh/h every day of the month, from Monday to Sunday, operating 24/7 (a total of 87,600 MWh).

Bidders may offer a lower capacity, but not below 1 MWh/h. Offered capacities must be rounded to the nearest whole number (1 MWh/h) and must cover the entire delivery period.

A test access session for the CROPEX platform is scheduled for March 17, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 CET. The auction will take place on March 18, 2025, from 11:00 to 12:00 CET.
