Croatia: Enna Geo took over another geothermal research field

After the Assembly of the Vukovar-Srijem County and the Municipal Council of Babina Greda passed decisions on the sale of the share in Geothermal sources tocompany Geo Power Babina Greda Vukovar, the most favourable and only bidder, has officially signed the contracts concluding this business transaction.

The previous owners each kept a 5 percent share, and Geo Power Babina Greda bought 45 percent from each of them, and now they are the owners with a 90 percent share.

“The company Enna Geo, through its daughter company, is already present as an investor in the municipality of Babina Greda, and as the exploration fields Babina Greda 1 and Babina Greda 2 are located on one geothermal deposit that forms one geological and hydrodynamic unit, our decision to enter the company Geothermal sources is logical from both a technical and an economic point of view”, pointed out Ivana Ivančić, director of Enna Geo and subsidiary companies within Enna Geo.

The plan, she said, is to develop both fields and build a geothermal power plant, and in the context of the multiplier effect of geothermal energy on the economy, along with the production of electricity, a whole range of possibilities for the development of the local area opens up.
