Croatia: Electricity production in September

In September 2020 net electricity production in Croatia amounted to 974 GWh, which is 31.3 % higher compared to September last year, when the production amounted to 742 GWh, according to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

During September, 357 GWh of electricity or 36.7 % was produced in hydropower plants, 395 GWh or 40.6 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 137 GWh or 14.1 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 881 GWh of electricity, 17.9 % less compared to last September (1,073 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 473 GWh, 30.7 % more than in September 2019 (362 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 49 million cubic meters of natural gas in September 2020, 39.5 % less compared to September last year. Natural gas imports stood at 173 million cubic meters, 8.1 % more than in September 2019. Crude oil production stood at 44,000 tons, which is 15.4 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 307,000 tons in September 2020, which is 6.1 % less than in the same month last year.
