Croatia: ECO balance group’s sale of electricity in 2021 auction report

ECO balance group consists of eligible producers and other parties engaged in the electricity production and who are entitled to incentive price according to the purchase agreement with HROTE.

Price determination for both auctions was based on “pay as bid” principle. On 19 and 23 November, yearly and quarterly auction for the sale of electricity from ECO balance group in 2021 by electricity market operator HROTE was successfully organized via CROPEX trading platform. Eight market participants participated in the yearly auction for the sale of electricity from ECO balance group held on 19 November totaling 110 MWh/h (base power product) for the period from 1 January 2021 to 31 March 2021. The entire volume of 110 MWh/h was sold at the auction through five transaction with an average weighted price of 46.84 euros/MWh/h.

Seven market participants participated in the auction for the sale of electricity from ECO balance group held on 23 November totaling 20 MWh/h (base power product) for the period from 1 October 2020 to 31 December 2020. The entire volume of 20 MWh/h was sold at the auction through three transaction with an average weighted price of 47.53 euros/MWh/h.
