Croatia: April electricity production

According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in April 2021 amounted to 1,083 GWh, which is 63.6 % higher compared to April last year, when the production amounted to 662 GWh. During April, 596 GWh of electricity or 55 % was produced in hydropower plants, 219 GWh or 20.2 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 178 GWh or 16.4 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 923 GWh of electricity, 12.4 % more compared to last April (821 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 529 GWh, more than two times higher compared to April 2020 (216 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 67 million cubic meters of natural gas in April 2021, 14.1 % less compared to April last year. Natural gas imports stood at 233 million cubic meters, 55.3 % more than in April 2020. Crude oil production stood at 46,000 tons, which is 6.1 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 282,000 tons in April 2021, compared to 295,000 tons in the same month last year.
