Croatia: 934 GWh of electricity produced in July

According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in July 2018 amounted to 934 GWh, which is 17.5 % more than in the same month last year, when the production amounted to 795 GWh.

During July, 497 GWh of electricity or 53.2 % was produced in hydropower plants, 301 GWh or 32.2 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 81 GWh or 8.7 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 1,175 GWh of electricity, which is approximately the same as in last July, while electricity exports stood at 482 GWh, which is almost twice the amount exported in the same month last year (287 GWh).

Regarding hydrocarbons production, Croatia produced 108 million cubic meters of natural gas in July 2018, which is 15 % less than in the same month last year. Natural gas imports stood at 106 million cubic meters, 29.8 % less than in July 2017. Crude oil production stood at 58,000 tons, slightly less than in July last year, while crude oil imports stood at 262,000 tons. Production of petroleum products stood at 362,000 tons in July 2018, which is 1.7 % higher compared to July 2017.
