Croatia: 929 GWh of electricity produced in October

According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in October 2019 amounted to 929 GWh, which is 6.2 % higher compared to October last year, when the production amounted to 875 GWh. During October, 246 GWh of electricity or 26.5 % was produced in hydropower plants, 519 GWh or 55.9 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 86 GWh or 9.3 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 960 GWh of electricity, which is 9.9 % less compared to last October (1,065 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 406 GWh, 11.9 % less compared to October 2018 (461 GWh).

Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 86 million cubic meters of natural gas in October 2019, 19.6 % less compared to October last year. Natural gas imports stood at 189 million cubic meters, 11.2 % more than in October 2018. Crude oil production stood at 54,000 tons, which is 10 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 394,000 tons in October 2019, some 10.7 % lower compared to 441,000 tons produced in the same month last year.
